A hobby is an interesting occupation of a person during his leisure. It is not a regular business or professional work. Most people have hobbies such as gardening, stamp collecting, embroidery, story writing, singing, playing upon a musical instrument painting and collecting paper cuttings.
Reading is another good hobby which helps one to forget worries and enrich one’s knowledge. It is useful to lead a calm and peaceful life. Hunting, fishing are hobbies of some people. Making plastic baskets, embroidering and knitting are hobbies of women. Writing is the hobby of thinkers. Making toys for children is another kind of hobby. Kite making is a popular hobby in some places.
Gardening is my pastime as I have a small plot behind my house. I have divided the plot to grow various. I have the necessary gardening tools like the spade, shovel bucket scissors and knife. The flowering plants like the Jasmine, rose adorn my garden. I have one or two fruit bearing trees too. Vegetables like tomato and different types of plants grow in my garden.
My garden with its flower plants, the green leaves, the flowers, the fruits and the smells of the flowers and the fruits in the garden is really a paradise on earth. The shade of the mango tree in my garden is the source any good inspiration for me. I forget my worries and relax in my gardens. Besides being a place of peace it provides us with adequate vegetable for our daily use.
Birds and bees visit my garden. No wonder I may become a Wordsworth one day. That is because of my garden and my involvement there.
